She was a sports reporter for some of the most prestigious outlets in the nation. Her tenure at The Washington Post was spent reporting on multiple Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis along with basketball, football and other sports. Nichols spent nine years at ESPN which was where she earned two Emmy Awards. She also served as an assistant journalist on the Monday Night Football broadcasts. She then moved to CNN and Turner Sports. Unguarded was a program that she produced and hosted, was telecast each day on CNN International. A billion viewers viewed the program across the world. Nichols reported on NBA television broadcasts for TNT, including the regular season, playoffs and All-Star broadcasts. Nichols also reported on baseball, golf as well as Final Four broadcasts for CBS as well as TBS. The only woman to have been chosen from more than two hundred nominations in the history of 42 years for the honor.
